From Florida to Ibiza, 7 Real Estate Developments With Insane Amenities

Fancy gyms, rooftops, swimming pools, and even golf simulators are common amenities today in any upscale residential development worth a second look. Forget the expected: A handful of developments—most of them new—are upping their game with perks for residents that go beyond the ordinary. It’s probably not exaggerating to say that they’re over-the-top.

The Estates at Acqualina, a condominium in Sunny Isles, Florida, that’s debuting later this year, is a prime example. The list of outdoor amenities alone includes 5.6 acres of oceanfront gardens, multiple pools (one has a waterslide), surfing simulator, gym, dog park, basketball and bocce courts, and a soccer field. Homeowners can also buy their own air-conditioned beach cabanas equipped with wine cooler, microwave, fridge and full bathroom, plus two attached parking spaces.

Then there’s the 45,000-square-foot Villa Acqualina. (What won’t this Italian-inspired building have?) Look for an outpost of the buzzy New York Mediterranean eatery Avra, a spa and gym, a residents-only speakeasy bar and disco, an ice-skating rink, bowling lanes, a movie theater, a Formula One simulator, and a Wall Street Trader’s Club room where residents will have access to ticker tape, computers, and a boardroom.

Stephanie Trump, the co-owner of the Estates, says that she and husband Jules created these amenities with families in mind. “We want to attract families to come live here,” she says. “Jules and I thought of our children and grandchildren when we were coming up with ideas and considered what they would want to do and experience if they lived here. We wanted a playground for both adults and children.”
