Rebuilt after a fire, this six-bedroom estate sits on four Southlake acres

The sellers of this Southlake estate named the property “Beauty for Ashes” after a fire forced them to rebuild the home 10 years ago. The 14,528-square-foot home belongs to the Grubbs family, of Grubb Automotives (who have dealerships across D-FW and in San Antonio). It was custom built by Paul Kramer, and the rebuild is a slightly larger version of the original design.

The home sits on an almost four-acre property complete with a pond, fountain, gazebo, sculptures and a motor court.

Listing agent Barbara Pantuso of Keller Williams Realty said the sellers have used the property to host many fundraising events. She said the ideal buyer is “somebody who likes to entertain.”

“To me, it’s a beautiful, resort style,” she said.

Large double doors lead into the foyer of the home, which is filled with natural light and looks straight into the formal living room. A wood-paneled study sits to the right of the foyer, complete with built-in bookcases, details across the ceiling, a fireplace, and windows that look onto the front of the property. The home’s formal dining room sits on the left side of the foyer and has built-in bookcases for storage, and painted wood paneling along the walls.

The formal living room has ceilings two stories tall, and a breezeway on the second level looks down on the space. Two seating areas fit in the formal living room, and one side of the room has an elaborate fireplace. A set of double doors provides access to an outdoor area at the back of the home.

The home has six bedrooms, six bathrooms and four half-bathrooms. This includes a separate guest apartment that can be closed off from the rest of the home for privacy or opened to offer an extra room.

Many of the home’s living spaces are well-suited for entertaining. The large family room, the open-concept kitchen, the informal dining area and the 14-seat home theater are ideal for guests.

The first-floor primary suite has built-in bookcases, a fireplace and a separate seating area. The primary bathroom has dual vanities, a bathtub, a separate shower and walk-in closets. Each of the remaining bedrooms has an en suite bathroom.

The home has an elevator, a wine cellar, a wet bar and a gym. Outside, there is a pool and a separate parking area that is hidden from view.

The home at 702 S. White Chapel Blvd. in Southlake is listed for $6,750,000. Exterior photos of the home were taken by Full Package Media, interior photos were taken by Stephen Reed Photography.
