Top 5 home sales in May: Cherry Hills Village properties take three spots

A Cherry Hills Village home sold for the first time in 28 years in May, and its $4.9 million price tag was top among local residential sales that month.

The 12,775-square-foot secluded brick mansion at 1620 E. Layton Drive sits on 2.6 acres with a private gated driveway near a path that leads to Woody Hollow Horse Park, according to the listing.

It was purchased by Amelia and Matt Hayden, according to public records. Last August, the couple sold a different home, at 4101 S. Colorado Blvd. in Cherry Hills Village, which was the top local sale that month.

The Layton Drive property was sold by Nikki C. Moller, who bought it for $822,400 with her late husband George Moller in 1993.

The main floor features a new white gourmet kitchen, private study areas, a billiards room, and a spacious master suite.

Outside, the fenced grounds include a tennis court, raised garden beds and room for a future pool, according to the listing. There’s also a three-car attached garage and a separate two-car garage.
